Responsibilities & Qualifications

A Day in the Life

 

• Perform manual testing for a product/product line, including test strategy, development, and identifying risks

• Creating and documenting test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications

• Record and document test results, compare them with expected results and communicate discrepancies with development teams.

• Capable of setting up an independent test environment and troubleshooting issues that may arise

• Detect software failures to identify defects early on and get them rectified

• Document and track software defects in the bug-tracking system

• Generate historical analysis of test results

•Provide stakeholders with precise estimates for the duration of tasks, including any dependencies with full confidence

• Participate in product planning meetings

• Investigate bug reports to differentiate software defects from data or configuration issues

• Document software defects with detailed test cases and outcomes to narrow the specific scope of the defect around multiple variables

• Contribute to regression testing every sprint

 

We would love to chat if you have...

 

  • 6+ years of professional experience in testing web and mobile applications
  • Experience working with the Test Case management tool (Test Rail preferred)
  • Knowledge of manual API Testing (Tool experience is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience in reporting bugs, knowledge of the bug life cycle, and utilizing bug management tools to report bugs
  • Strong understanding of SQL and database fundamentals
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Good practical experience in comprehending business scenarios and crafting test cases accordingly.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter who thrives in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to collaborate, validate, and prioritize requirements for projects and request 
  • Master’s degree in computer science or relevant Engineering degree

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience testing applications that handle credit card payments
  • Knowledge of any automation tools is an added advantage
  • Experience with non-functional types of testing like performance and security is a plus
  • Knowledge of Code repository tools such as Git / Azure DevOps / Bit-bucket
  • Knowledge of CI - CD pipelines / Jenkins / Team City
  • Experience with CRM software systems, web content management systems, membership management systems, or other association software tools.
