Responsibilities & Qualifications

A Day in the Life

 

In this role candidate will:

  • Develop application code according to requirements and assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to lifecycle Flow and value streams by following and prescribing methodologies and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior development team members.
  • Solve the most difficult software development challenges.
  • Maintain balance of business and technical acumen in decision making.
  • Contribute to source-code management and work item tracking best practices.
  • Contribute to the estimation process during planning exercises.
  • Provide consultation to development management team.

Must Have Skills:

  • 6+ years of professional web development experience
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Architect, Design and Develop applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-oriented programming (OOP) design and principles.
  • Strong knowledge of the ORM layer.
  • TDD experience. Writing good unit tests and integration tests, preferably using RSpec.
  • Architect’s solutions to maximize scalability, performance, and security.
  • Expertise with MVC and MVVM frameworks/architecture such as Rails and/or J2EE.
  • Experience developing Restful APIs.
  • Experience with caching and queuing mechanisms like RabbitMQ, Sidekiq, Kafka.
  • Expertise working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/JQuery.
  • Developing highly optimized database applications/Queries based on SQL. Experience working in one or more RDBMS like MySQL or Oracle
  • Agile development experience using one of the scrum tools like Jira.
  • Experience with git and version control software like github or bitbucket.
  • Authentication and Authorization using SAML and/or OAuth 2.0
  • Experience in deploying to cloud and managing it. Experience with AWS is huge plus.
  •  

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Java or any other backend programming skills will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with developing micro services.
  • Knowledge of GraphQL. Understanding of webpack and NodeJS.
  • Experience with Performance testing and APMs at enterprise level.
  • Experience with developing payment systems. Knowledge of PCI requirements.
