Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Summary

 

Plans and builds an organization's systems infrastructure. Implements, modifies and designs information system. Monitors the performance of systems.  

 

A Day in the Life

 

  • Collaborate directly with other technical and non-technical stakeholders in the design, testing, integration, and implementation of Enterprise-level solutions 
  • Test and implement standards/design patterns to ensure compatibility and integration in cloud and on-premise environments 
  • Identify, test, and implement enhancements and automation capabilities for data migrations, security best practices, environment builds, and operational management standards 
  • Serve as an engineering resource on proofs of concept and projects that are leveraging cloud-based technologies  
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment and protocols, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs. Cisco Meraki experience would be advantageous 
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems 
  • Build and maintain relationships across departments 
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of technology principles, practices, and procedures 
  • As a technical resource make recommendations on changes required throughout the design, testing, and implementation process 
  • Work with management, architects, and colleagues to develop solutions 
  • Self-manage in a way that allows flexibility to support multiple projects at any given time 
  • Support the development of a structured, standardized, and consolidated set of services that optimally support business processes and applications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or Business or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical IT role 
  • 1+ years’ experience with Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) services and solutions 
  • Good scripting capabilities 
  • Good organizational, task, and project management skills 
  • Self-motivated and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams 
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure technologies - Server, data store, network, storage, and management technologies 
  • Experience with a Unified Endpoint Management system, and experience with MS Intune 
  • Experience with IT transformation Mergers and Acquisitions and Migrations 

 

 

Computer/Technical:  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, especially O365.  
  • Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) services and solutions 
  • AWS or Azure experience 
  • ITIL Framework experience 
  • Business Intelligence experience, working with data visualization would be advantageous. 
  • Scripting experience with MS PowerShell would be desirable 
  • Experience with Email Security (DKIM, SPF and DMARC) would be a plus

  • Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with internal and external clients 
  • Must be willing to mentor colleagues on new Technologies and processes  
  • Must have a mindset of continuous improvement 
  • Must stay updated with technology trends and keep abreast of emerging technologies, trends and best practices.
