Responsibilities & Qualifications

A Day in the Life

 

As a System Engineer, you will be heavily engaged in the design, builds, and implementations of technology solutions in a very collaborative environment. The Cloud Services team is sharply focused on supporting the company through the delivery of innovative cloud hosting, primarily leveraging services from Azure and AWS.

In this role candidate will:

  • Collaborate directly with Development/Software Engineering and other technical and non-technical stakeholders in the design, testing, integration, and implementation of cloud hosted solutions. Test and implement standards/design patterns to ensure compatibility and integration in cloud environments.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the software development lifecycle through technology enhancements supporting continuous delivery/continuous integration pipeline.
  • Identify, test, and implement enhancements and automation capabilities for data migrations, security best practices, environment builds, and operational management standards.
  • Provide leadership to engineering resources with respect to emerging cloud technologies and supporting resources.
  • Serve as lead engineering resource on proofs of concept and projects that are leveraging cloud technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Build and maintain relationships across departments · Demonstrate broad knowledge of technology principles, practices, and procedures.
  • As a technical expert, provide guidance and make recommendations on changes required throughout the design, testing, and implementation process.
  • Work with management, architects, and engineers to develop artifacts·
  • Self-manage in a way that allows flexibility to support multiple projects at any given time.
  • Support the development of a structured, standardized, and consolidated set of services that optimally support business processes and applications.

 

We would love to chat if you have...

  • Requires 8 or more years of overall IT experience.
  • Requires 5 or more years of experience with Cloud (Azure experience preferred). AWS is good to have.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of Azure, AD , Azure Front door and Windows administration.
  • Exposure to Azure Devops, Git, GitHub, CICD Pipeline, Azure ARM
    Windows server patch management (WSUS & Azure Update Manager)
  • Sound knowledge of IIS, SQL server’s configuration and maintenance.
  • Intermediate Scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Python, Yaml)
  • Advanced understanding of Windows operating systems and its functionality.
  • ITIL (foundational level, but exposure to more detail than foundational is often necessary)
  • Deploy various infrastructure monitoring solutions including CloudWatch, New Relic, Grafana, Azure Monitor. Monitor and respond to critical alerts to ensure stable production environments.
  • Work in night shift.
